In spite of the Postponement of the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Elections by INEC few days ago,The Federal Polytechnic of Nekede, Owerri had reiterated her decision on the Resumption date for academic activities.
In an Internal memorandum signed by the Registrar,Mrs Anuna E.C issued to the Entire Polytechnic community,the management reaffirmed that the Resumption date for academic activities remains Tuesday,14th of March,2023 as earlier scheduled.
Recall that the Polytechnic Management in the previous memorandum dated 20th of February,2023 announced the suspension of academic activities from Wednesday,22nd February to Tuesday,14th March,2023 following the directives from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and National Board for Technical Education NBTE .
The Polytechnic Management unlike other Polytechnics didn’t extend the Holiday break as the NBTE as well the Minister of Education didn’t direct all Polytechnics to be shut down till 20th of March,2023.
“Consequently,all lectures and students are directed to commence teaching, learning and other academic activities accordingly.”
“All Deans,Directors and Heads of Departments are requested to ensure strict compliance with the Management’s directive stated above.” The Internal memorandum partly reads.
The Registrar rounded off the Memorandum by wishing all Students journey mercies and God’s protection on behalf of the Management.
