The Lagos State University, Ojo, LASU, had placed a ban on signing-out funfair activities by final Year students. This is expected to take effect as from the 2023/24 academic session.
The above decision was arrived at the Senate’s 306th statutory meeting held on Thursday, 25th of January, 2024, contained in a paper with the reference Number, LASU/SEN/ST 306/063, presented by the Acting Dean, Students’ Affairs.
This was owing to the fact that the previous set, upon the successful completion of their second semester Examination engaged in Acts which are against the Rules and regulations governing the University such as indecent dressing and smoking of Hard drugs.
Consequent upon the above, The University Senate , under the Approval of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-bello, had deliberated that;
Henceforth, All final Year students are to sign undertaken not to organize any funfair/party in the name of SIGN-OUT.
For signing out to be organized, students should ;
- Not play any music at such occasion.
- Not bring food/cakes/drinks from outside the premises for such occasion.
- Not invite or bring any visitor to such occasion.
- Not bring to campus any canopy or tent to such occasion.
