LASU SET TO GRADUATES 12,219 GRADUANDS,282 STUDENTS BAG FIRST CLASS DEGREE
Management of the Lagos state university, LASU is set to graduate a total of 12,219 Graduands of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic session set as 282 students bagged first class Degree(s).
This was made known to Admission hub,In a press conference of the 26th convocation ceremony which was live today at the University’s senate Building.
The 9th Substantive Vice-chancellor of the University, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji Bello mni,NPOM, stated when briefing the Press that the University Senate approved the graduation of 12,219 students with the breakdown;

The Professor of Physiology, during the press conference was delighted to announce the best graduating students of the two sets,2020/2021 Academic Session: LOPEZ Feyisayo Divine, Department of Physiology, Lagos State University College of Medicine with a CGPA of 4.91 [First Class Honours] and For the 2021/2022 Academic Session, we have YUSUF Aminat Imoitesemeh, Law, with a perfect CGPA: 5.00 [First Class Honours].
The Vice-chancellor further added that the University is graduating the highest number of first class in her 40 years history and promised both best Graduands an award of #500,000 cash.
The Press conference of the 26th convocation ceremony which held today began with the VC’s welcoming speech and the announcement of the Convocation ceremonies to be a 2-in-1 programme as the University will be celebrating it alongside its 40th Anniversary.
During her Speech delivery, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji Bello, mni, NPOM reiterated that the newly approved programmes (Urban and Region planning,Estate management, Pharmacy, Library and Information science e.t.c) will be opened for Admission once the programmes as successfully undergo the last stage of verification process by the National university Commission (NUC).
She averred that the University was ranked the best university in Nigeria by AD-Scientific ranking for the year 2022 and also the best state University in west Africa according to UI Green metrics ranking for the aforesaid year. This birthed the fact that Lagos state university is the most ecological-friendly university in west Africa.
On the schedule of event of the 26th Convocation Ceremony,the Vice-chancellor said that the convocation ceremony will span as from Today being 24th of June,2023 till 22nd of June,2023.
