UNIMAID Gets NUC’s approval to run 9 new programmes at undergraduate level

In what can be considered a major milestone in the University of Maiduguri, The National universities Commission (NUC) has approved the Commencement of 9 new programmes at undergraduate level.

The newly approved programmes are B.sc Architecture, B.sc Biotechnology, B.sc Surveying and Geo-Informatics, B.sc Building, B.sc Human Physiology, B.sc Nutrition and Dietetics, B.A Theatre Arts, B.sc Social work and B.sc Urban and Regional Planning.

The Approval followed a resource verification exercise carried out in June, this year, by panel of experts from the NUC team on the proposed academic programmes with a view to assessing the Human and materials resources available for its establishment.

According to the NUC letter received on 23rd June, 2023. The programmes will run full time, be effective as from 2023/2024 academic session.

The NUC’s executive secretary, further stated that the University should provide more library Buildings for books and Journals in order to ensure the smooth-free run of the B.sc Building Programme.

The Vice chancellor of the University, highly expressed his profound gratitude to the NUC team for the approval, and also, congratulate the entire university community on the achievement.
