MOUAU SUSPENDS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES, SHUT CAMPUS OVER PROTEST
by Meedex

In the early hours of Today, The Vice Chancellor of the Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike had suspended academic activities in the varsity following an impromptu protest by the students.
As exclusively inferred from an Internal memorandum signed and approved by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, CFS, The suspension of academic activities is effective immediately and till further notice.
Reason being that Miscreants took over the University, chasing and pursuing the Vice-chancellor, damaging his official vehicle and those of his officials claiming that they were not allowed to take their First semester Examination owing to their failure to pay their charges.
Contrariwise, the University’s record show that more than 70% of the students had paid their charges and were peacefully taking their examination, while more than two thousand were in the que to pay and register their courses before the Miscreants and hoodlums took the stage to cause trouble and disrupted the long-standing peace of University.
In its bid to safeguard Life and Properties on campus, Prof., Maduebibisi had directed all students to vacate the University premises immediately, but not later than 5:00pm on Wednesday, 7th of February, 2024 as the University campus will be shut down indefinitely.
